20 things we should say more

I watched this video today and I loved it!

I really truly do believe that the things we say matter.  I know that no one is perfect, but I also know that words can truly turn someone's day around.

I was walking home from class one day last semester.  It was 9 am and I was so sleepy and grumpy.  I had forgotten to do an important part of the prep for the lesson and I wanted to go home and sleep.  I was walking with my head down just looking at my feet. I looked up for a brief moment and a girl who was walking toward campus passed me with a smile, looked right at me and said

"Good morning!"

In that moment I felt better.  I'm not sure if it was the happy look on her face or the kind word she gave me, but I decided not to be grumpy anymore.  I made an effort to smile at people I was passing on campus.  I want to be as kind as that girl was who's kind word helped my day turn around.

my valentine

This is Brantley.  He is my valentine.  

I found this picture today and it just made me remember why I love him

That sounds goofy but let me explain.

His smile in this picture. I love his smile

His Hawaiian shirt, I love that he loved his mission 

His uke. I love that he tries new things

I cannot express how in love with this guy I am. 

He is everything that I have ever wanted in a companion. 

He is kind, he is caring and he makes me laugh harder than anyone I have ever met.  

He makes me better

He strengthens me

He loves the Lord

He is my everything  

I love him for everything he is and everything he does. 

Brantley I can't wait for April 17th! Thank you for being my best friend!

so...it's been a while

wow guys. I stink at blogging, sorry about that

I HAVE JUST BEEN SO BUSY.

Wedding planing is rough stuff, but I love it all the same.  Here is an update on Brantley and Claire:

We went to Subway yesterday.
I got grilled chicken
B. got a yummy pizza

we love food.

We picked out B's tie and suit two days ago! It was exciting because finding the right color tie has been a nightmare. 

Tonight we are going to a Valentine's Dance I am sooo excited :) I love having a valentine.

I will try to be less lame with my posts.

Oh my gracious I am in l-o-v-e.

Brantley and I had a wonderful day today! We went to an outdoor heated pool and swam and just had so much fun! Then we had engagement pictures taken by my wonderful sister ANNA BUYS. She is the best.  I absolutely love them so far.  Taking pictures with Brantley was awesome because I just love him so much ;) Later, we had some yummy egg sandwiches Brantley made for us and skyped his mom.  We went and saw my roommate Ellie perform at the Crossroads and had a fun little movie night with Nacho Libre.

Holy smokes I love that guy.

WE'RE ENGAGED!!

I love this guy!! he planned the most wonderful proposal ever! He even got my sister to take pictures :) 

It was outside the Rexburg temple where we went on our first walk together and had our first real deep conversation. He wrote me a wonderful note that made me cry :) he came down the steps of the temple and got down on one knee! It was amazing and I said yes :)

After that his roommates came out and started singing "can you feel the love tonight" and my sister, his mom and sister, and some other friends came out and gave us big hugs :)

all I know is that I love him and I can't stop smiling!

I just love my brother and my dog.

I talked with my brother last night on the telephone. This was our conversation:

Me: Hi mom!

Parker: uhh...this is parker

Me: oh haha hi parker!

Parker: helllooooo 

Me: how was your day today

Parker: It was so good!

Me: What did you do?

Parker: I made an owl!

Me: in art?

Parker: yup!

Me: how?

Parker: with clay

Me: do you get to take it home?

Parker: no, they have to fire it.

Me: oh, and then you take it home?

Parker: no (laughs) then I have to paint it!

Me: oh!! THEN you get to take it home?

Parker: noooo (laughs) then they have to fire it again!

Me: Then?

Parker: yes! ...unless I want to give it more paint

Me: would they have to fire it again?

Parker: NO because then it will probably explode. 

Me: Oh ok. What does your owl look like?

Parker: well..um ok you are going to have to picture this in your head ok? its like an oval with a 'u' for the face so to make it realistic then it has half circle wings and a beak. What are you doing?

Me: thats awesome! I'm waiting for my ward party to start

Parker: your party?

Me: ya for my church!

Parker: Oh! ok

-a moment of silence-

 Parker:....well you had better get to that party. Bye! 

I just love him. I couldn't handle how cute he was on the phone. I miss you Parker!
