      Something I love about Brantley is that he loves to make me feel loved :)

Band

 I'm waving:)

Yesterday I had my university band concert.  I have loved being in band this semester, but it was so weird not having my dad there because he has been so involved in by band involvement since 5th grade.  I talked with him right before my concert and felt more normal haha. I was so grateful for my roommates and Anna and Kent and Brantley and his parents for coming to support me. :)

 Brantley and I upheld the tradition my family has of ice cream after band concerts :)

Slam Dunk

A few weeks ago, Brantley was in the 3 point shoot out competition for BYU-Idaho!!

He was one of 4 who competed out of a ton who tried out! I am a proud fiancee.

Brantley didn't win, but we were so proud of him anyways!

Brantley has been teaching me how to play basketball! This particular night we played at 10:30 pm and it was just a blast.  Brantley hit a new record for 3 pointers (28 in a row!!) and I hit a new record for (almost) free throws! (8 in a row!) haha he is so fun

Wow Hi this is way belated

Brantley and I went to a valentines day dance :)

It was so fun being a valentine.  I was somewhat in charge with helping at the dance so I loved that I had Brantley there with me :)

He picked me up with a rose.  He got a yellow one because its my favorite color :) 

What a sweetie.

Then we ran into Meredith! I love this girl :)

It was a lovely Valentines day :)

For the real deal, Brantley planned dinner.  I walked into his apartment and there was a beautiful table all set up with candles and a big bucket of KFC on the table.  

It was awesome. 

We exchanged gifts (Brantley got me this wonderful book full of talks about the Temple) and it was just a wonderful Valentines day :)

I watched this video today and I loved it!

I really truly do believe that the things we say matter.  I know that no one is perfect, but I also know that words can truly turn someone's day around.

I was walking home from class one day last semester.  It was 9 am and I was so sleepy and grumpy.  I had forgotten to do an important part of the prep for the lesson and I wanted to go home and sleep.  I was walking with my head down just looking at my feet. I looked up for a brief moment and a girl who was walking toward campus passed me with a smile, looked right at me and said

"Good morning!"

In that moment I felt better.  I'm not sure if it was the happy look on her face or the kind word she gave me, but I decided not to be grumpy anymore.  I made an effort to smile at people I was passing on campus.  I want to be as kind as that girl was who's kind word helped my day turn around.

my valentine

This is Brantley.  He is my valentine.  

I found this picture today and it just made me remember why I love him

That sounds goofy but let me explain.

His Hawaiian shirt, I love that he loved his mission 

His uke. I love that he tries new things

I cannot express how in love with this guy I am. 

He is everything that I have ever wanted in a companion. 

He is kind, he is caring and he makes me laugh harder than anyone I have ever met.

so...it's been a while

wow guys. I stink at blogging, sorry about that

I HAVE JUST BEEN SO BUSY.

Wedding planing is rough stuff, but I love it all the same.  Here is an update on Brantley and Claire:

We went to Subway yesterday.
I got grilled chicken
B. got a yummy pizza

we love food.

We picked out B's tie and suit two days ago! It was exciting because finding the right color tie has been a nightmare. 

Tonight we are going to a Valentine's Dance I am sooo excited :) I love having a valentine.

I will try to be less lame with my posts.

Oh my gracious I am in l-o-v-e.

Brantley and I had a wonderful day today! We went to an outdoor heated pool and swam and just had so much fun! Then we had engagement pictures taken by my wonderful sister ANNA BUYS. She is the best.  I absolutely love them so far.  Taking pictures with Brantley was awesome because I just love him so much ;) Later, we had some yummy egg sandwiches Brantley made for us and skyped his mom.  We went and saw my roommate Ellie perform at the Crossroads and had a fun little movie night with Nacho Libre.

Holy smokes I love that guy.

WE'RE ENGAGED!!

I love this guy!! he planned the most wonderful proposal ever! He even got my sister to take pictures :) 

It was outside the Rexburg temple where we went on our first walk together and had our first real deep conversation. He wrote me a wonderful note that made me cry :) he came down the steps of the temple and got down on one knee! It was amazing and I said yes :)

After that his roommates came out and started singing "can you feel the love tonight" and my sister, his mom and sister, and some other friends came out and gave us big hugs :)

all I know is that I love him and I can't stop smiling!

I talked with my brother last night on the telephone. This was our conversation:

Me: Hi mom!

Parker: uhh...this is parker

Me: oh haha hi parker!

Parker: helllooooo 

Me: how was your day today

Parker: It was so good!

Me: What did you do?

Parker: I made an owl!

Me: in art?

Parker: yup!

Me: how?

Parker: with clay

Me: do you get to take it home?

Parker: no, they have to fire it.

Me: oh, and then you take it home?

Parker: no (laughs) then I have to paint it!

Me: oh!! THEN you get to take it home?

Parker: noooo (laughs) then they have to fire it again!

Me: Then?

Parker: yes! ...unless I want to give it more paint

Me: would they have to fire it again?

Parker: NO because then it will probably explode. 

Me: Oh ok. What does your owl look like?

Parker: well..um ok you are going to have to picture this in your head ok? its like an oval with a 'u' for the face so to make it realistic then it has half circle wings and a beak. What are you doing?

Me: thats awesome! I'm waiting for my ward party to start

Parker: your party?

Me: ya for my church!

Parker: Oh! ok

-a moment of silence-

 Parker:....well you had better get to that party. Bye! 

I just love him. I couldn't handle how cute he was on the phone. I miss you Parker!

Grades

GRADES WERE POSTED TODAY.

So do you remember when I was super upset about getting an A- in math?  I feel really bad for complaining but now I am so happy!!

My teacher rounded my grade from a 92.6% to a 93% so I got an A!! WHAT??!?!?! I got my 4.0 after all :) Brantley did so good on his grades as well and I am proud of him :)


I worry too much about little things I think.

Kansas

Hey guys!! I'm sorry it has been so long, but I have been a little busy!!

im in Kansas! I love it!! and do you want to know who else is here??

BRANTLEY!! I am so happy he is here and exploring Kansas with me. Today we got matching K-state shirts (as shown above) and went to go visit my grandparents :) We will keep you posted on our adventures!

crushed goals and happy elves.

I had a goal at the beginning of this semester to get a 4.0.  I was really dedicated and tried to get every point I could in order to obtain that goal.  Finals week is here and I have been trying my best to do all I can to achieve my goal.  I really did think I would make it...

Then I took my Math test today.

88%.

92.3% in the class (A-)

resulting in a 3.95 GPA

I was crushed. Its a silly thing to get so worked up over a grade, and I know there are more important things, but it was hard to see.
I'm excited for this week to be over and to go to Kansas and see my family and my dog.  I miss them so much and I cannot wait.

Something good happened today too however,

I was studying alone in the MC and I heard a beautiful violinist in the next room.  I have wanted to learn violin for a while, but hearing it made my heart soar. It was amazing.  I felt the spirit and the love of the Lord in this person's talent.

My roommates and I did "Elf Yourself" tonight for about an hour. I laughed so hard I cried :)
